I think edges are needed because it adds diversity to all pictures if you see all photos have at least one edge
school edges
These images are from the many places around the school which we had to find edges in things we see everyday but from these we had to choose if we wanted straight edges corner edges or circle edges.we had half an hour to find at least 30 images which shows the corner edge we chose I chose the corner edges.
looking up and down
we went around the school looking up and down to show a new perspective to our edges that would not normally be seen without looking for them as they are to high or low not to been seen without a reason.

www: I got all 8 images in different locations
ebi: I got the photographs to higher standard
ebi: I got the photographs to higher standard
classroom edges
for this work we had half an hour to go around our classroom and get 20 pictures of straight curved and corner edges we had to get them by using a 3 way grid to make sure it was a good angle
www:i got all 20 images with time to spare to get even more
ebi: I found more pictures of round edges
ebi: I found more pictures of round edges
this is my favourite classroom edge because:
if you look at it closely you can see that there is many more edges then when you first look you see this item most days but you never notice the vast majority of edges |
Marie Laigneau
Triptych
These images are like the one I got last week they show edges that are not seen unless you are looking for them like how they all are never noticed.
Triptych is when you choose 3 images then you look for a formal element such as; focus, light, line, repetition, shape, space, texture, value. I chose these images because they use the element of shape as they all have rectangles. To create a triptych you must have 3 images then look for similarities then put 3 together and get a picture then you are done.
Laszlo Moholy-nagy
The Hungarian painter, designer and teacher Laszlo moholy-nagy(1895-1946) he was one of the leading figures in bauhaus.this is one of his many up and down images of building he shows a whole new perspective to photography. He was born July 20 1895 in bacsbarsod,he studied law before he became a painter.
Edges photogram
For this task we had to choose 3 objects in the dark room and after we got photograms of them around the theme of edges.
I made this triptych because all of the images show edges in circles from rope to paper. I just thought every image here really caught my eye and made me want to get the pictures.
Diptych
Today we had to go around block 1 looking for diptychs that are based on edges that are never seen without purpose we had to get 10 photos 5 diptychs
This is my favourite diptych because it uses colour and shape as a similarity and is really well known in the school
paper edges
these are some pictures that we got of pieces of paper which we folded in many different ways to show different perspectives to see them differently we also changed the angle of light which changed the shadows location adding effect to that part of the image we got this from a famous photographer called jerry read
www/ebi
www:i got three well placed paper edges
ebi:i got some more pictures with different edges
ebi:i got some more pictures with different edges
Sequencing of edges
we had to choose some of our favourite work from a genre we chose.
this as my first attempt but I did not want all of the images
this is the sequence I chose as there is not to many to make
Independent project
for this project we must choose a type of edge I chose a photogram but we have to do by ourselves
I am going to make these photograms into a shape by cutting and reshaping them to make another thing that can represent an edge
Cyanotypes
to make a cyanotype you must use a certain paper and fold and direct sunlight put in water and then it is finished
Assessment
for this task we had a 20 second timer to pick 5 images that we wanted to use for the day
I chose these 5 images because they all show the effect of humans on the world as all of the images above show people wearing down their personal items that just get thrown on the streets when they are done with them this made me think that once the earth has been used up for all of the natural resources we will try to take over another planet that that may give them a new chance or just another planet that will waste away. This can also been seen as all of these images show littering on the streets from people who could not be bothered to take their rubbish to a nearby bin that will help the earth instead of just making it be wasted away quicker.they also have a range of coolers that caught my eye and made me want to choose the 5 images.
for this task we had to go around the school looking for places that remind us of the five images that we chose at the beginning of the lesson and we had half an hour.
I chose these 17 images because the five pictures I chose at the beginning of the lesson had shown the effect of littering on the world and I went around school looking for places where people have littered and not had an idea that they are littering one of the images has a piece of rubbish right next to a bin when they could have just put them in.
Experiments
to make my final piece I made some experiments to see if it will work which it did and helped me create a better final piece
Final piece
for my final piece I was in the dark room and made some photograms based on round edges and I have used a trimmer to cut them down and make a photogram of all of them combined to make these pieces
Final piece background
for this piece we had to get our final piece and take pictures in places that we thought worked with the style of art I chose windows as I like the contrast of the light to dark and I believe it can show my creation in a new light
evaluation
this work ended well I completed my work and made some improvements from my experiments which has made my work look a lot better I did some photograms that show round edges and can be interpreted in different ways also combining my experiment I made a much better piece
www:i used all of my images to create a good sculpture
ebi:i used more of each image to create the model instead of just a small part
photogram
today we went into the dark room to make a photogram with items of our choice with different edges first one we had to choose one then 3 then however many we wanted next we got the picture with the machines then use chemicals to show our pictures.
Essay
the photograph taken by Robert frank-sick of goodbys from 1978 is in black and white this makes it easier to see edges.the photograph taken by Lorenzo vitturi- red 1 from 2013 is in couler to show texture.red 1 is In portrait and shows still life.sick of goodbys is landscape.red 1 uses a range of coulers which catch your eye .sick of goodbys looks like a scene straight out of a horror movie.
some main differences is the couler difference as sick of goodbys is dark and scary while red 1 is bright and coulerful. some simalarities are they both show creativity. in red 1 the foreground there is scattered object such as a plate and pepper. in the mid ground there is a sculpture and a cup. the background there is an orange. In sick of goodbys the foreground there is a hand holding a doll. the mid ground shows there is a mirror with black paint on it. in the background there is a black wall. red 1 shows creativity to create a sculpture while sick of goodbys uses black paint to create a horror scene.
sick of goodbys uses a lot of straight edges as most items ae squares and rectangles. red 1 uses a range of edges such as straight edges and corner edges. red 1 shows a relationship between photograph and edges by using a variety. sick of goodbys uses mainly straight edges. if I could talk to Lorenzo virturi what gave him the idea to make red 1 for Robert frank I would ask why did he include so many mirrors in sick of goodbys.
for red 1 I would change the name to peace and balance as it uses balancing while creating peace. for sick of goodbys I would call it horror room as it is dark and scary. red 1 would be peaceful while sick of goodbys would be scary if I lived in the photograph. I think they were influenced by dark and light it shows the conflict between them well.
